About

I'm Kallin Nagelberg — a software engineer and engineering leader with 15+ years building platforms and the teams behind them. By day I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Wiza; before that I was a Director of Engineering. I'm a full-stack generalist (Ruby, Python, AWS) who's found a lot of leverage in AI tooling lately.

The thread I keep coming back to outside of work is civic tech — making government data legible. I recently built an interactive tool to trace Ontario's $244B budget, tagging every figure by how transparent its source actually is, and I'm doing early work on citizens.run, which helps people understand the weight of their vote. I think AI has quietly made a new kind of civic analysis possible, and that's where a lot of my curiosity points right now.

This blog is where I write things down — what I'm learning, what I'm building, and the occasional reality-adjacent thought.
